Suppliers sought for £80m Cambridge uni framework

The University of Cambridge is seeking suppliers for an £80m construction and construction-management framework.

The Construction Professional Services Framework UCAM 22-040 will run for four years initially and could stretch to a further two years, covering works in the city.

The framework is divided into six lots, based on the nature of the work. Each lot will be further divided into value bands that firms may bid for.

Lot 1 is for the cost-manager supplier and will cover quantity surveying and construction-management work. Meanwhile, project-management services will be tendered for as part of Lot 2.

Lot 3 covers architectural services, while Lot 4 includes civil and structural engineering jobs, such as load-bearing structural design services.

Engineering design work towards mechanical and electrical installations will be part of Lot 5. Finally, Lot 6 will be used to tender for building-surveying services.

The contracting authority, which is the university, will receive tenders until 22 December 2022.

Elsewhere, earlier this year, Mace landed a £60m job to work on the expansion of research facilities at the University of Oxford. In other university contract news, Laing O’Rourke has recently been involved in a £14m dispute regarding alleged defects in brickwork for a job it delivered for the University of Manchester.
