Morgan Sindall subsidiary wins £50m Ilford job

Lovell Partnerships has won the contract to deliver a £50m housing development in Ilford, London.

Redbridge Council awarded the contract for the Loxford Lane development to the residential construction firm, which is a subsidiary of the Morgan Sindall Group.

Work will involve construction of multi-dwelling buildings and individual houses. The development consists of 159 homes, spread over four buildings with flats and 17 terraced houses.

Lovell Partnerships will build the full scheme, including site infrastructure works and landscaping.

The site is at the corner of Ilford’s Loxford Lane and South Park Drive. Planning consent has been granted for the new homes, along with landscaping and improvements to the culvert along South Park Drive.

Demolition contractor DDS Demolition has begun work to demolish the existing buildings on the site. This is scheduled to complete in June 2023 and construction works are expected to start by autumn 2023, with the scheme to be completed in autumn 2025.

Most of the waste from construction will be taken to a licensed waste-processing plant, where it will be processed, recycled and resold back in to the construction industry. Redbridge Council anticipates achieving a recycling rate of 97 per cent of the waste from the site. A proportion of the structural arisings will remain on site for processing and will be reused within any future development programme.
