Caddick appoints new managing director

Caddick Construction has poached a regional manager from Wates to be its new managing director.

In his new role, Paul Dodsworth will run Caddick Group’s construction companies – and he will be responsible for the group’s vision for strategic geographical and sustainable growth across its divisions.

Dodsworth previously led Wates’ northern division and will take up his new position on 1 August.

Caddick Construction executive chairman Andrew Murray said: “We are delighted that Paul is stepping into this exciting role to lead all of our construction businesses. His hands-on approach will strengthen the business, and we all look forward to working with him. Paul replaces Adrian Dobson, who has retired after almost 23 years on the board.”

The appointment comes as Caddick plans to expand its operating regions and increase its activity, especially in the residential sector. Dodsworth will also support the growth of Casa by Moda – delivering the construction of Moda Living’s single-family-home brand, alongside other key projects across Yorkshire, the North East and the North West.

Dodsworth said: “I’m particularly excited by the opportunities currently being presented in both the residential and logistic markets. I was immensely proud to be asked to join Caddick Construction – a very well established, respected and financially strong business. The aspirations of the business to expand its geographical footprint, while further developing the existing regions [it covers], is a challenge I will embrace and drive.”
