The winners of Australia’s International Good Design Awards were announced on Friday 16 September, 2022. Payapps – Making Construction Progress Payments Simpler, Faster and Fairer received a Good Design Award Winner Accolade in the Digital Design category, in recognition for outstanding design and innovation.
The Good Design Awards reward projects across 11 design disciplines covering more than 30 categories and sub-categories.
“It’s an honour for Payapps to be recognised against a number of high-calibre entrants for this year’s awards,” says Tony Simonsen, COO of Payapps.
“The Digital Design Jury were looking for solutions where a holistic design approach had been considered as well as projects that improve the quality of life for people and contribute to better economic, social, and environmental outcomes.
“I’m hugely proud that Payapps has been recognised for doing just that! We’re helping an increasing number of companies improve their back-office efficiencies and productivity, making it easier for them to better manage time-consuming and costly progress claim processes across the construction sector where the timing of payments have arguably never been more important.”
The Australian Good Design Awards has a history dating back to 1958. Each year, the Awards celebrate new products and services on the Australian and international market – excellence in architectural design, engineering, fashion, digital and communication design, and reward new and emerging areas of design including design strategy, social impact design, design research and up-and-coming design talent in the next-gen category.
The Awards attracted projects from Australia and around the world. These projects were evaluated by more than 70 Australian and international Jurors, including designers, engineers, architects and thought leaders.
Each entry was evaluated according to a strict set of design evaluation criteria which includes Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.
Projects recognised with an Australian Good Design Award demonstrate excellence in professional design and highlight the impact a design-led approach has on business success and social and environmental outcomes.
The Good Design Awards Jury commented on the Payapps project: “A much needed edition to the construction industry that makes everybody’s lives hassle free. A streamlined approach to the submission and approval of payment between builders and subcontractors. An intuitive solution to a commonly loathed issue. Well done to everybody involved with the design and execution of this project.”
