Lendlease has welcomed the approval of its Development Application for the circa $80 million Gold Creek Homestead Precinct development and new residential aged care facility in the ACT.

The Gold Creek Homestead development will be an extension to the adjoining The Grove Retirement Village in Ngunnawal. It includes 45 new two- and three-bedroom independent villas with internal garage access and private covered alfresco entertaining as well as facilities such as a clubhouse complete with a library, gym, heated indoor swimming pool, village green and gardens, and connected walking trails

The project will also include a separate 124-bed residential aged care facility to be delivered by Arcare Aged Care.

John Bruzzaniti, General Manager of Development VIC/ACT, Lendlease says the development’s approval is a positive for the local community.

“Receiving the green light from council to get started on our new development brings us one step closer to delivering a vibrant, intergenerational community that is sustainable, inclusive and builds on our existing connection with the local area,” he adds.

“The new precinct will also help meet the high demand for independent living retirement homes and residential aged care in Canberra.”

Further, Lendlease will retain, restore and activate the historic Gold Creek Homestead and transform it into a purpose-built amenity space surrounded by green open space and manicured gardens.

Construction of the Gold Creek Homestead development is set to create trade and technical jobs throughout the development and build phase, as well as operational jobs for the aged care facility and retirement village upon completion.

Construction of both the precinct and aged care residence is expected to start in mid-2023.
