BESIX Watpac CEO Mark Baker
Construction heavyweights are banding together to improve the sustainability of the industry as the Australian Constructors Association (ACA) announces another new member, BESIX Watpac.
The growth in membership of the ACA is testament to the important role the association performs in bringing stakeholders together to collaborate and influence positive industry change.
Australian Constructors Association CEO Jon Davies said the association is broadening its influence in the built form affirming its position as a national representative body covering the three key sectors of the industry – vertical, horizontal and construction services.
“Our members have the shared purpose of creating a sustainable construction industry that is a great place to work,” said Mr Davies.
“BESIX Watpac’s values of co-creation, respect and unity align with the journey we are on to improve the culture of the industry so it is an employer of choice.
“We are committed to working collaboratively to make cultural change happen within the industry but also to deliver a positive return to the economy through better productivity and improved economic and social outcomes for the broader community.”
BESIX Watpac CEO Mark Baker said joining the ACA provides a great opportunity to really accelerate change.
“The construction industry is an integral part of our economy and success as a nation. In building our future, we are facing significant challenges including global supply chain issues, labour market restrictions and cost escalation,” said Mr Baker.
“The Australian Constructors Association is an opportunity to work together with peers to tackle these issues with practical innovation, thought leadership and collaboration. We are at our best when we work collectively.”
BESIX Watpac’s membership follows last week’s announcement that Built has also joined the association.
