Acciona Cultura delivers Lusail Museum exhibition in Doha

The exhibition will have 237 artefacts on display and will build anticipation for the opening of the new museum

Acciona Cultura has announced the successful delivery of technical development and museographic implementation works for the Lusail Museum: Tales of the Connected World exhibition. The exhibition is being presented to build anticipation for the forthcoming opening of the Lusail Museum, the company stated.

In a statement, Acciona Cultura said that the project, which is located in the heart of Doha, at the Qatar Museums Gallery – Al Riwaq, is being developed for Qatar Museums. It added that the exhibition will excite visitors about the currently under development Lusail Museum, which will showcase Orientalist art, archaeological artefacts, and media from antiquity to the 21st century.

With 237 artefacts on display, the Lusail Exhibition will explore cultural interactions between the greater MENA region and its peripheries – Europe, Central and East Africa, and Central, South and East Asia. These artefacts include a large collection of paintings on canvas, jewellery, tapestries, costumes, film props, books, manuscripts, photographs, decorated ceramics, glass, and metal. They will be combined with almost 60 audio-visual and interactive resources that support the narrative and allow visitors to approach and interact with the objects, the company explained.

In April 2022, Acciona and UCC said they had delivered the world’s largest sport museum in Qatar and, later in the month, Acciona Cultural Engineering announced it was rebranding to Acciona Cultura.

The work carried out by Acciona Cultura covers the six different spaces of the Lusail Exhibition: Uncovering Orientalism; Cleopatra; Desert; the Delacroix’s Gaze; Al-Hamidiyya Souq; and Journeys.
